London-based Ensurance expands to Manchester

London-based specialty lines managing general agency Ensurance has expanded to Manchester, with the launch of an office led by regional development manager, Ian Fox.

The firm appointed two construction underwriters to the regional business. Senior construction underwriter Clark Gardiner joins from Tokio Marine Kiln and construction underwriter Nick Lappin joins from Allianz.

Chief executive officer of Ensurance, Tim James said the new office marks an important next step for the MGA.

“In three years, we’ve progressed from day one with a small team working from a hotel lobby, to opening our second office with a total underwriting team of 16 supporting 8 lines of business,” he added. Manchester is well-known for its vibrant and established insurance market and was the obvious choice for us”.

Ensurance UK specialises in the construction and engineering sectors as well as terrorism. Founded in 2017, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian-based, Ensurance.
