JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers has appointed Gary Newlyn (pictured) to spearhead a new division called JM Glendinning Community Risk Solutions. It will focus on community organisations, including registered providers of social housing, care providers and charities. Newlyn joins from Zurich Municipal.

Newlyn said: “Organisations providing critical services to our communities do an incredible job in ensuring our country and communities thrive. Our venture will help solve some of their risk and insurance problems and help to give them peace of mind, meaning that they can focus on doing more of the good work they do. We will deliver fresh thinking and greater innovation for the benefit of customers and our insurance partners.”

Jake Fox, group managing director at JM Glendinning, added: “Gary’s expertise and experience with registered social housing providers, charities and other public benefit organisations means he is best placed to understand the challenges they face as well as the value they add to our communities.”
