Travel insurance specialist Tifgroup has launched a new travel insurance platform called albert & eddie. It offers customers insurance ranked by the specific details of their trip, rather than by price. It will initially offer cover from tifgroup brands including Holidaysafe, Insurancewith, Flexicover, Alpha, Get Going and Dogtag.

The platform allows travellers with medical conditions to compare quotes using medical screening tools from Protectif and Verisk.

Amber Moon, brand manager for albert & eddie, said: “Finding affordable travel insurance can be difficult for those with medical conditions and our site is the first to allow people to choose which medical screening tool to use.”

Tony Brown, director of underwriting at tifgroup, added: “We’ve been working on this for some time to focus on making the customer buying process more intuitive. We’ve developed an algorithm that is designed to match policies to specific customer needs.

“We believe this needs-driven, rather than price-driven approach will make a big difference to the customer experience, at both buying and claims stage where they are less likely to end up disappointed.”
