Compass Insurance has agreed to consider providing full flood insurance cover to customers who fit Flood Technology Group’s flood adaptive platforms to their caravan, lodge or holiday home. The platforms rest on a mechanical jack system that’s designed to detect and react to flood conditions by automatically elevating above the rising water.

Karen Stacey, managing director of Compass Insurance, said: “Compass Insurance is proud to pledge support for Flood Technology Group customers.

“We feel this has been the most exciting development for the last decade or two in terms of flood protection and are therefore happy to consider full flood cover for caravans, lodges and park homes where a flood adaptive platform has been manufactured, installed and is maintained by Flood Technology Group.”

Simon Gilliland, chief executive of Flood Technology Group, added: “Historically, the owners of lodges and caravans on sites that have flooded previously have struggled to get insurance cover, so this is wonderful news as it means that both holiday caravan and park home owners will be able to future-proof their homes and businesses.”
