Managing general agent Alps has launched a new commercial excess protection policy, which is underwritten by Collinson. The product has limits ranging from £250 to £2,500 and Alps said the cover would give brokers added flexibility when arranging commercial insurance for clients.

It has been designed to enhance standard commercial insurance cover, whilst lowering premiums, thereby allowing brokers to be even more competitive when securing the best possible protection for their commercial clients.”
  
Alps offers a broad suite of add-on covers including sole trader, landlord, commercial, family legal expenses; motor related add-ons including excess protect, tools in transit, vehicle replacement, road rescue; and property related add-ons including landlord excess protect and home emergency, key cover and second property legal expenses.  

Capacity is provided by a growing panel of insurers. The MGA also has a number of delegated authority arrangements in place.
