Aviva acquires DisasterCare Group

Aviva has acquired DisasterCare Group to boost its in-house claims response. DisasterCare Group comprises CJN Holdings Limited, which is the parent company of Disaster Care Limited and The Flood School Limited, together operating as DisasterCare.

Aviva said the move would strengthen its disaster recovery and restoration capabilities as well as simplifying and accelerating the claims process for customers. DisasterCare provides access to local recovery and restoration suppliers that provide services such as drying, cleaning, strip out and reinstatement events including fire or flooding. The Flood School specialises in providing training in flood and water damage restoration.

Steve Bridger, chief claims officer, UKGI at Aviva, said: “By bringing DisasterCare into the Aviva group, we are strengthening our ability to support customers quickly and effectively, while continuing to work with trusted local experts… Bringing the two organisations together supports a more seamless end to end property claims experience and helps us respond quickly when customers need us most.”

Chris Netherton, CEO of DisasterCare, added: “This acquisition strongly aligns with our strategic objectives and reinforces our commitment to delivering a best-in-class service while supporting our long-term growth ambitions. It presents an exciting opportunity to strengthen our capabilities, broaden our reach, and build on our established foundations.”
