Intact publishes new claims charter

Intact Insurance has launched a new claims charter that sets out the carrier’s focus on providing a fast response, supported by clear ownership and proactive communication when dealing with claims. Intact hopes the charter will give brokers greater confidence in its ability to support clients after a loss.

Intact will use the charter across its UK business as a benchmark against which to measure performance. It aims to improve existing response times, communication and overall claims outcomes.

Karl Helgesen, chief operating officer at Intact Insurance, said: “Brokers tell us that clarity, speed and consistency in claims handling are critical, not just for their clients, but for their own ability to manage relationships and deliver value.

“This charter sets out, in practical terms, what brokers and their clients can expect from us. It is about removing uncertainty, strengthening accountability and making the claims experience easier to navigate.”
