Principal's post-tax profits surge 16.5% to over £812k

Sale-based broker Principal Insurance has reported post-tax profits of £812,113 for its last financial year, which ended on 31st October 2025. This was up by 16.5% on the previous year. Its turnover was up by 4.4% to £6,952,365.

The figures exclude the acquisition of Lancaster-based Peart Performance Marque Limited from administration, which completed on the final day of the group’s financial year.

In addition, Principal Insurance has acquired Bristol-based Europa Group, including its MotorCycle Direct brand and Europa Underwriting, which trades under the Ridersure wholesale brand. Principal says these deals will drive further growth.

Dave Bowcock founded Principal Insurance as a specialist motorcycle insurance broker in 2011. He said: “The figures for our last financial year are more than satisfactory, driven by growth across our portfolio, but with our motorhome and fleet segments performing particularly strongly.

“However, recent acquisitions, most notably that of Europa Group, are set to drive much more significant growth as we further increase our share of the motorcycle insurance market and benefit from the synergies of integration.”

Following the Europa deal, Principal Insurance has 125,000 policyholders and generates over £60m in annual gross written premium.
