Clear Group has acquired Newman Pearce and Partners LLP, which is a Lloyd’s wholesale broker that supports retail brokers and coverholders seeking access to the Lloyd's market. It was established in 2019 by Gordon Newman, Neil Pearce and Colin Rogers and has a focus on global specialty, international liability, construction, offshore marine liability and specialist property.
NPP has a team of 24 and controls gross written premium of around £120m. It will add to Clear’s existing London wholesale operation, delivered through Lilley Plummer Risks Ltd. Clear says NPP's areas of expertise are complementary to LPR's focus and will help it expand its footprint across a wider range of sectors and markets.
Mike Edgeley, group CEO of Clear Group, said: “The London wholesale market is a key strategic growth area for Clear and NPP is an outstanding addition to the Group… Their capabilities are highly complementary to our existing wholesale business, broadening our proposition and strengthening our ability to serve brokers and clients across the London Market.”
Neil Pearce, CEO and co-founder of NPP, added: “Joining Clear represents an exciting next chapter, giving us access to additional resources while preserving the entrepreneurial culture and specialist focus that have underpinned our success. We look forward to working with our new colleagues to continue delivering exceptional service for our broker partners and clients.”
