FCA cancels distribution firm’s permission to operate

The Financial Conduct Authority has cancelled Professional Liability Network’s Part 4a permission to carry on regulated activities. The watchdog says the firm has not engaged in communications with it since mid-June 2025 and has failed to be “open and co-operative in all its dealings with the Authority.”

Professional Liability Network has been authorised to conduct regulated activities relating to insurance distribution and designated business activities since 14th January 2015. However, it failed to respond to an email request, sent on 17th June 2025 for clarification on submitted figures. Follow-up emails, telephone calls and letters also went unanswered.

The FCA says the firm has failed to submit returns since the beginning of April 2025 and has an overdue balance on its fees/levies.

The regulator’s final notice stated: “By repeatedly failing to respond at all to the Authority’s attempted communications, the Firm has demonstrated that it is not capable of being effectively supervised by the Authority having regard to all the circumstances and is therefore failing to satisfy the Effective Supervision Threshold Condition.”
