Bishop Street Underwriters has established a new group structure for its UK operations, which include Incorporated Insurance Group and recent acquisitions Landmark Underwriting and Avid Insurance. The move will bring the different entities together under a common management and governance structure. The combined operation will be called Bishop Street Underwriters UK.

The individual businesses will continue to operate under their existing brands and regulated entities. Stephen Gibson will lead BSU UK as group chief executive officer. John Inwood has been named as chief underwriting officer.

BSU UK says the introduction of integrated and shared technology platforms across the businesses will enhance efficiency, make it easier to scale operations and support further growth.

Gibson said: “Over the last 18 months Bishop Street has established a significant presence within the UK. The next stage is to bring those businesses together within a structure that allows us to operate much more effectively as one group. The important point is that we are not changing what makes those businesses unique and successful. Their brands, underwriting teams, specialist expertise and relationships with brokers and capacity partners remain fundamental to what we are building.

“It also gives us a much stronger platform for growth and further expansion into the UK and EU. We now have a robust UK infrastructure into which we can bring additional capabilities, giving our team members access to the expertise, resources and advancement opportunities of the wider group.”
