CFC enhances cyber response product

Insurance provider CFC has launched a suite of enhancements to its cyber proactive response product that seek to address the changing nature of cyber exposures facing businesses and their executives. The overhaul improves personal protections for executives, boosts the affirmative AI cover provided and extends the indemnity period for business interruption claims.

CFC says attacks increasingly tend to extend beyond the business to target those responsible for running it. The executive enhancements include cover for personal crime and extortion exposures, temporary relocation costs for executives and their families and trauma counselling services in the aftermath of an attack.

The overhaul has boosted the indemnity period for business interruption claims from 12 to 18 months. The affirmative AI enhancements include explicit cover for AI-enabled social engineering attacks, deepfakes, voice cloning, AI impersonations and LLM-jacking.

Scott Bailey, head of global cyber underwriting at CFC, said: “Cyber risks continue to evolve rapidly, whether through the growing adoption of AI technologies, increasingly targeted attacks against senior executives or the longer-term consequences of business interruption events.

“At CFC, we believe cyber insurance should evolve alongside those challenges. These enhancements are designed to provide greater certainty around emerging risks, stronger protection for the individuals leading organisations and support that reflects the human impact of cyber incidents as well as the financial one.”
