BIBA appoints Acrisure as LDI scheme provider

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association has named Acrisure UK as the provider of its latent defects insurance scheme. Acrisure UK’s specialist construction team will provide BIBA members with access to cover for residential and commercial developments across the UK.

Acrisure UK will offer BIBA brokers a single point of contact through the placement process and access to a panel of insurers offering latent defects insurance and structural warranty solutions.

Mike Hallam, head of technical services at BIBA, said: “LDI requires specialist knowledge and expertise, making access to the right market particularly important. We believe this scheme will be a valuable resource for members supporting commercial and private customers alike with their building development needs.”

Andrew Boyce, CEO of Acrisure UK retail, added: “We are delighted that BIBA has appointed Acrisure UK as the provider of its LDI scheme and we look forward to supporting its broker membership through our new proposition.

“Structural warranties can be a complex area for brokers and developers, particularly as the requirements of different projects, lenders and insurers continue to evolve. Our aim through the BIBA scheme is to make it easier for brokers to access specialist expertise and a broad range of insurer capacity across residential and commercial developments.”
