Law firm HF’s technology subsidiary High Five has launched an AI-powered claims handling solution called ELI (Expert Legal Intelligence) in collaboration with the University of Salford. ELI can summarise documents, create timelines, identify inconsistencies and improve correspondence. It can also review and analyse indemnity, liability, fraud, and quantum; assess credit hire payment packs; and assist handlers with intelligence investigations.
David Scott, managing director of HighFive, said: “ELI isn’t just another AI solution - it’s built differently. We at HighFive develop the technology and HF’s top lawyers train it to think like a legal expert. This gives insurers the best of both worlds: cutting-edge AI that is grounded in real-world legal expertise, making claims handling faster, smarter, and more cost-effective."
Ronan McCann, CEO and managing partner of HF, added: "ELI represents a step-change in the way motor insurance claims are handled. It brings together AI and human expertise to streamline processes while maintaining the highest legal standards. This is about augmenting claims handlers, not replacing them, ensuring better outcomes for insurers and their customers."
