The Chartered Insurance Institute has appointed eight industry leaders to its newly created Professional Communities Advisory Board. It will operate in tandem with the CII’s specialist advisory groups in broking, claims and underwriting and seeks to ensure the professional body’s outputs meet the needs of its members.
Richard Napoli, divisional director, customer solutions at Markel will chair the PCAB.
The deputy chair will be Joel Markham, director of schemes and delegated authorities at Axa. The other members are Janet Edey, financial fines director at Chubb; Kerry D’Souza, underwriting director at First Central; Eibhlin Swan, head of claims and customer delivery at Allianz; Alycia Thomson, PEMA practice director and chair of global at PIB; Nicola Maguire, commercial director at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association and Sheryl Fernando, director of membership and commercial strategy at the Association of British Insurers.
Adam Harper, executive director, advocacy and professional standards at the CII, said: "The insurance profession is navigating significant change, from evolving customer expectations and emerging risks to new technologies and regulatory developments. At times like these, it is more important than ever that the CII's work is informed by the experience and insight of practitioners working across the profession.

Their expertise will help us to really understand the challenges and opportunities facing the profession, strengthen the relevance of our thought leadership and learning activity and ensure that the voices of practitioners continue to shape the future direction of our work."
