Zurich UK has announced that it has appointed Hilary Bates to the role of chief compliance officer. The move is internal and she joins from Australia where she was chief operating officer of Zurich Financial Services across Australia and New Zealand.

Bates said: “The UK Compliance function is highly experienced and well versed in supporting and challenging the business to manage its compliance risks. I am looking forward to joining the team, ensuring our compliance function delivers value in all we do, and working with my colleagues to deliver on our promise to our customers.”

Her appointment subject to regulatory and visa approval.
