Gallagher has appointed Simon Collins (pictured) as chief broking officer. He will report to Michael Rea, chief executive officer of Gallagher in the UK and join his executive team. He was previously managing director of Gallagher’s national broking and placement team within its UK and Ireland retail division. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Collins said: “The ability to broker the best deals for our clients is vital in order to retain and develop new business. I look forward to working with the team to build our existing broking capabilities, further strengthen our insurer relationships and develop new products.”

Rae added: “The fact that we have been able to make this key executive appointment from within our existing team speaks volumes about the level of talent we have at Gallagher, and Simon will be instrumental as we continue our success story.”
