Market intelligence specialist Insurance DataLab has named Starr International (Europe) as the best underwriter in the UK general insurance market. Insurance DataLab rates regulated carriers across three key metrics – combined operating ratio, three-year aggregate COR, and improvement in the COR over the last 12 months. It then gives each a percentage rating.

Starr International (Europe) came out top with a rating of 79%. Completing the top five, were Hiscox Insurance (73%), Sabre (71%), Allianz Insurance (71%) and Ecclesiastical (71%).
