Aon launches datacentre division

Intermediary Aon has established a multi-line facility to support clients manage all areas of risk across the development and subsequent operation of a datacentre. It said its new Data Centre Lifecycle Insurance Programme team would deliver an integrated solution that provided solutions for construction, cargo, cyber and operational exposure from under one umbrella.

Aon said the demand created by artificial intelligence and cloud computing was driving the surge in datacentre investment and that a single risk solution would generate greater capital efficiency, faster execution and stronger resilience across infrastructure projects.

DCLP offers coverage for construction all risks, delay in start-up, and operational property damage and business interruption. It includes construction cyber physical damage and construction non-damage cyber and operational cyber and tech E&O. In addition, third-party liability (excluding US exposures) and project cargo and transport insurance are also available.

James MacNeal, global industry specialty leader of construction and infrastructure for Aon, said: “Our Data Centre Lifecycle Insurance Programme empowers clients to make better decisions, moving faster and more confidently, with protection that evolves alongside strategic assets, from physical infrastructure to digital operations.”
