Independent broker the Clear Group has announced the acquisition of Miles Archer Limited, a Kent-based regional broker established in 2001 which specialises in property owners' insurance. Clear is backed by Goldman Sachs, employs more than 650 staff and controls annual gross written premiums of more that £300m.

Mike Edgeley, group CEO of the Clear Group said: “Miles Archer Limited adds further scale and expertise to the Clear business. It’s another great example of Clear investing in smaller brokers as we continue to build a balanced and sustainable business.”
