Phelan Caswell Insurances has rebranded to Clear Insurance Ireland following its acquisition by the Clear Group in 2024. Founded in 1998 Phelan Caswell Insurances was previously known as BHP Insurances and has a client base of more than 2,500 people. Prior to becoming part of the Clear Group, it had acquired EBIB Insurances (2023) and Sweeney Walsh and Associates’ book of business (2024).

Des Murphy, CEO of Clear Insurance Ireland, said: “This integration builds on the strong platform we’ve already established in Ireland and positions us for continued growth across the country.”

Mark Phelan, managing director of Phelan Caswell, added: “Becoming part of Clear Insurance Ireland marks an exciting new chapter for our business. Our clients now benefit from the broader resources, specialist expertise and enhanced services that come with being part of the Clear Group.”

Mike Edgeley, group CEO of the Clear Group, said the announcement was another step in the business’s journey to expanding its footprint in the Irish market.
