Generali launches Core Tech software factory

Generali has launched Generali Core Tech, a new group ‘software factory’ aimed at developing the technological transformation of the business by building scalable, shared platforms that support business growth.

Generali Core Tech will focus on the management and further development of ‘Insurance in a Box’, a shared core insurance platform for both Life and P&C, advancing the platform’s roll-out program across its key European markets.

The company says IIAB has helped it to deliver economies of scale and scope across the insurance business. The initial perimeter of the project will cover about 15 million policies group-wide.

The new software factory will build a team of around 150 experts, adopting advanced development methodologies, supported by GenAI-powered tools, and working in close collaboration with local teams across the business units. David Cis, group COO at Generali, said: “We are excited to launch Generali Core Tech as a further example of our focus on group synergies and technological transformation as part of its ‘Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence’ plan.

“Generali Core Tech, together with RGI, will continue to evolve the ‘Insurance in a Box’ platform shared across multiple business units. This will allow us to strengthen our leadership in key skills development, and support local teams in new systems development, and strengthen the use of AI in radically changing software development processes.”
